Candidates for the position should meet the conditions specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 "The Law on Higher Education and Science" and the Statute of the University of Wrocław.

Candidate profile, requirements and qualifications:

  • PhD in sociology or social sciences or a PhD degree in another scientific discipline within the field of social sciences or humanities.
  • Well-defined scientific development plan.
  • Fluency in English, at least B2+ level confirmed by a certificate or other documents.
  • Scientific achievements in the field of social sciences, including the following:
  • authorship or co-authorship of articles published in the journals indexed in the international databases Scopus, Web of Science, ERIH+ or DOAJ;
  • authorship or co-authorship of scientific monographs, book chapters or edititing volumes published by publishers from the valid list of publishing houses of the the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSW)/Ministry od Education and Science (MEiN) (2nd level);
  • authorship or co-authorship of a scientific monograph published by publishers from the valid list of publishing houses of the MNiSW/MEiN (1st level);
  • authorship or co-authorship of articles published in the journals from the current list of journals of the MNiSW/MEiN;
  • 5. The minimum condition of employment is to have at least one publication listed in points 4.1-4.2 and, in addition, at least two other publications listed in points 4.1-4.5. Preference will be given to candidates with achivements in the field of sociology carried out in the Department of Science, Knowledge and Culture at the Institute of Sociology.

    6. Preference will be given to candidates with documented participation as a project leader or contractor in research or educational projects carried out by higher education institutions, financed by domestic or foreign institutions in open competition proceedings.

    Additional advantages are:

    1. Proficiency in Polish or written declaration of readiness to master this language at least at B2 level certified by an examination within two years of employment.

    2. Knowledge of further modern foreign language on a level allowing cooperation with partners in research and teaching projects.

    3. Previous teaching experience in sociology, economic sociology, sociology of disposable groups or social work.

    4. Research internship or employment in foreign scientific or teaching institutions for at least three months.

    5. Participation with a paper in a national, foreign or international scientific conference.

    6. Scientific achivements in form of publications listed in point 4 published within the last four years.

    The tasks include:

    1. Conducting research.

    2. Preparating scientific publications for high-ranking journals and prestigious publishing houses.

    3. Conducting classes with students of the first and second degree as well as students of the Doctoral School (also in English).

    4. Applying for internal and external (including international) research grants.

    5. Applying for foreign scientific fellowships.

    6. Establishing and maintaining contacts with scientific centres abroad.

  • Summary of the scientific and teaching experience and other achievements in the field of organisation and dissemination of scientific work, research mobility and scientific development plans.
  • List of publications and overview of teaching experience and other achievements in the organisation of conferences and dissemination of scientific results.
  • Electronic versions of the two most important publications (or typescripts of unpublished works) which are considered to be representative of the candidate’s academic achievements.
  • Copies of Master’s and PhD diplomas (or habilitation certificate).
  • Two letters of recommendation, provided that these letters are sent by e-mail to the President of the Committee at the address [email protected] .
