Director of Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computational Modelling with approval from the Rector of the University of Warsaw announces a competition for the position of an assistant professor in the research group in the biological science discipline
The candidates should meet the conditions set out in the Law on Higher Education and Sciences of 20 July 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2022, item 574 with later amendments) and the Statute of the University of Warsaw.
Requirements: Competence in leading and conducting research in natural science in the field of molecular genetics and biotechnology - in particular with the use of omics techniques in relation to civilization diseases, supported by scientific publications in the field of genetics, biochemistry and medicine. Experiences in the field of higher education with an international experience documented by the participation in international scientific projects or international cooperation and internships.
PhD is required to join the competition.
The successful candidate will carry out research in the field of analysis of omics databases, especially on the Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C also known as Pediatric inflammatory multisystem syndrome temporally associated with SARS-CoV-2 (PIMS-TS)) associated with COVID-19 disease, searching for risk factors as well as the risk of global occurrence, including model solutions of possible development scenarios, identification of factors epidemic risk for childhood infectious diseases and diseases already existing with high potential for expansion. He/she will participate in teaching students and other educational activities of ICM.
The candidates should provide the following documents:
Terms of employment: full time, assistant professor in a research group, temporary contract or for an indefinite period (in the case of a candidate from the University of Warsaw).

The applications will be evaluated by the selection committee at ICM. The committee will recommend one candidate by 20.01.2023. The applicants will be informed about the results by e-mail.
The competition is the first stage of the procedure of employment of academic teachers as specified in the Statute of the University of Warsaw and its positive results is the basis for further proceedings.
