The Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies, University of Warsaw announced call for the position of Assistant Professor (full-time teaching) at the Department of Book and Media History

Skills/Qualifications

PhD diploma in the field of social communication and media sciences,

Scientific achievements and expert/professional experience in the field of audiovisual communication, including the history and the present day of feature films - confirmed by publications, speeches at national and international scientific conferences, participation in the implementation of projects and activity in organizations, societies and scientific bodies,

Experience in academic teaching in the field of contemporary publishing, including publication design, history of the Polish media in the 20th century, including censorship, digital humanities and science studies,

Increased activity in the organization of scientific and popular science projects (sessions, seminars and workshops) thematically related to feature films and documentaries,

Good knowledge of languages: Polish and English.

Responsibilities:

Conducting scientific research in the field of social communication and media science and publishing their results also in international circulation;

Teaching full-time and part-time studies for 210 hours. teaching per year, including exercises and laboratories;

Readiness to perform the functions and organizational tasks entrusted to them at the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies.

Specific Requirements

The candidate should meet the conditions laid down in art. 113 of the Act of July 20, 2018, Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742 as amended) and in the Statute of the University of Warsaw.

Selection process

The competition will be adjudicated by the Division Competition Commission by June 30, 2024. The competition is the first stage of the employment procedure as defined in the University of Warsaw statute, and its positive outcome is the basis for further proceedings.
