of the Faculty of Modern Languages, University of Warsaw invites applications for the position

of Assistant Professor (research-teaching staff) at the Institute of German Studies.

Requirements:

The competition is open to persons who meet the conditions set out in art. 113 of the Act on Higher Education and Science (Dz. U. 2022 r., poz. 574), and who meet requirements: PhD degree in literature studies, fluency in German and Polish, at least five years of continuous experience as an academic teacher in an institution of higher education. The candidate is expected to have a scientific and research record in form of publications of national and international outreach, participation in national and international scientific conferences, and cooperation with domestic and international academic or scientific centres in the areas: Polish-German cultural differences, cultural heritage and memory culture, theatre, visual arts of German language area in the political context. The candidate is expected to have teaching experience in the following areas: knowledge of the culture of German-speaking countries, practical German language, specialized German language. The candidate should have in their teaching record promoted graduates in bachelor’s and/or master’s degrees and have training enhancing professional competencies, including the use of new technologies and tools in online teaching. The candidate should also have organizational skills and achievements in the field of science popularization. Main duties of the position: teaching for the obligatory annual number of teaching hours (hourly requirement), carrying out scientific researches and development works on topics covered by the University and related to own scientific development, and publishing their results, education of teaching Staff, organization of and participation in scientific conferences and symposia, active participation in the scientific life of the University, organizational duties for example: participation in works of the examination committees, participation in meetings of collegial bodies at the University.
