announces the open call for the position of Assistant Professor (post doc) in the group of research staff in the research project: NCN SONATA, pt. „ Understanding of conductive properties of nanofluids in nanopores for a new generation of triboelectric nanogenerators – Nano2-fluid” led by Yaroslav Grosu, PhD

Applications to the open call may be submitted by those who meet the conditions specified in Section 113 of the Act – Law on Higher Education and Science of 20 July 2018 (i.e., Journal of Law 2023 item 742)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- conducting scientific research in the discipline of chemical sciences,
- participation in the scientific projects and grants in the candidate’s country and abroad,
- active participation in the scientific conferences in Poland and abroad,
- educating the scientific staff and supporting young researchers, doctoral students and MA students in their scientific research,
- publishing research results in the journals with the Influence Factor (IF) and with the number of ministry points above the cut-off point for the discipline of chemical sciences,
- realization of the organizational tasks in accordance with the Individual Assignment of Duties.

Skills/Qualifications
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- minimum PhD degree in chemical sciences, chemical engineering or physical sciences awarded not earlier than 7 years before the date of the planned employment in the project,
- English: fluent in speaking and writing (min. B2),
- documented scientific research indexed in Scopus or Web of Science in the discipline of chemical sciences/material engineering/chemical engineering/physical sciences – published in journals with the high IF factor,
- preferred research subject including triboelectric generators, nanofluids, nanoporous materials, wettability,
- competences allowing for internationalization of the scientific activity, in particular to independently disseminate research results orally and in writing, independently edit manuscripts of scientific publications, and orally present research results in English.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- experience in research of the liquid-solid type triboelectric nanogenerators,
- experience in synthesis of the hybrid materials for the needs of designing triboelectric nanogenerators,
- experience in the experimental work connected with the intrusion-extrusion processes,
- experience in measuring wetting angles,
- experience in the research of phenomena in nanoscale, especially the wetting phenomena,
- self-reliance, organization skills,
- readiness to work in a team,
- readiness for scientific mobility,
- readiness to share the knowledge and experience with others.

- list of the candidate’s scientific achievements,
- candidate’s statement in which they declare that during the time they get the remuneration for the work in the project they will not receive any other remuneration from the means assigned as a part of direct costs of scientific projects financed from the National Science Centre programmes, or other remuneration from any other employer on the basis of employment contract, including the employer whose seat is beyond the territory of Poland,
- other documentation mentioned in the open call requirements.

- application submission deadline: 5th of May 2024 (11:59 p.m. CET)
- the selection process will be concluded by the: 4th of July 2024
Additional comments
OPEN CALL PROCEDURE:
Applications received after the deadline, incomplete applications and applications submitted in any other way than defined in the open call announcement shall not be considered.
The open call is conducted and solved by the open call committee appointed by the Rector. The open call procedure consists of two stages:
1) the formal assessment of the submitted documents,
2) merit-based evaluation of the candidates.
The formal assessment is preceded by the initial verification of the submitted documents confirming fulfilment of the requirements defined in the open call announcement. In the case of doubts the open call committee may call the applicant to complete the documentation in the defined period of time.
The open call committee prepares a list of persons whose applications fulfil the open call requirements to the greatest extent and invites them for an interview.
The interview may take place in person or by using the electronic means of communication. Invited candidates may be asked to prepare additional materials for the needs of presentation of their candidacy during the interview.
The open call committee may resign from conducting the interview if they state that the applications submitted in the open call do not fulfil the open call requirements.
The open call is solved by way of resolution adopted by the open call committee by secret ballot with the simple majority of votes.
The applicants are notified about the results of the open call. The applicants have a right to appeal against the open call committee’s decision in writing within 7 days from the day they are notified about the result of the open call. The appeal shall be considered by the Rector within the period of maximum 30 days.
The final, binding decision on employment of the candidate selected and recommended by the open call committee is made by the Rector.
The University reserves the right to leave the call unresolved.
