The requirements to be met by the candidate:   

• PhD degree in exact and natural sciences in the discipline of chemical sciences and the professional title of engineer. 

• Documented scientific achievements, with at least 30 publications from the Philadelphia list, in the field of synthesis and characterization of polymer foams and aerogels. 

• Documented participation in the implementation of research projects. 

• Experience in conducting laboratory classes in the field of polymer technology, construction chemistry and nanotechnology, both in Polish and English. 

• Experience in speaking at national and international conferences; 

• Internship experience in a foreign research center. 

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in the production methods and techniques used to characterize the properties of porous materials and aerogels. 

• Experience in testing physicochemical and mechanical properties, as well as thermal stability and flammability of polymeric materials and composites containing natural additives. 

• Research experience in the modification and functionalization of natural fillers and the development of new ecological polymer composites. 

• Knowledge of research techniques: UV-Vis spectroscopy, FTIR infrared spectroscopy, DLS particle size analysis, contact angle measurement; gel chromatography (GPC) and gas chromatography (GC); 

• Knowledge of thermal analysis methods: TG, DSC, DMA, and the use of thermal analyzers. 

• Experience in operating apparatus for testing the mechanical properties of polymer composites in static and dynamic conditions (Zwick testing machines and hardness testers, Charpy impact testers, ARES-G2 analyzer). 

• Recommended experience in cooperation with the industry. 

• Experience in conducting laboratory classes in the field of polymer technology and nanotechnology, both in Polish and English. 

• Fluent knowledge of the Polish language in speech and writing and good knowledge of English in speech and writing.

3. Description of the expected responsibilities and duties.: 

• Conducting research activities in the field listed in point 1 and disseminating research results in the form of publications and participation in scientific events. 

• Preparation of project applications and participation in project implementation, cooperation with research and industrial units in Poland and abroad. 

• Conducting practical classes (laboratory and design exercises) and theoretical classes (lectures and seminars, calculation exercises). 

• Participation in organizational work for the University and the scientific unit.

Candidates will be able to collect the documents related to the competition submitted by them for a period of 30 days from the date of the end of the competition. 

The evaluation process follows two-step procedure. The first step is based on the analysis of the submitted documents. The second one is an interview with some of the candidates.  

The name of the chosen candidate will be announced as soon as possible by email or phone. If the chosen candidate does not accept the position, the position will be offered to the following person form the recruitment list. 

 

8. Expected date of the results announcement:20th June 2023. 

 

9. Scientific research studies conducted at the Institute of Polymer Technology and Dyes are focused on broad issues related to the fundamentals of chemistry and polymer technology. Investigations concentrate on conducting industrial processes of production, processing and recycling of polymers, testing their properties enabling industrial applications. Research activity is aimed at developing the new technologies of polymeric materials, elastomers, thermoplastic materials, composites and nanocomposites. Besides the scientific and teaching activity in domain of polymers studies in Institute centre around technology of dyes, unique (on a country scale)  area of interest in Poland.
