announces an open competition for the position of POST DOC assistant professor in the group of research staff  

in the project entitled: "New horizons of tropospheric observations

with the use of new generation GNSS satellites, satellite constellation networks and artificial intelligence".

at the Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformatics

 

Description of tasks in the position:

  • tasks indicated in the project from which the FTE is funded:
  • reconstruction of the troposphere from GNSS observations (ground-based and satellite-based);
  • simulations of new LEO satellites and radio-communication between LEO satellites;
  • predictions of troposphere parameters using GNSS techniques and artificial intelligence;
  • conducting research activities in the area of GNSS remote sensing, including obtaining external funds for the implementation of research projects;
  • dissemination of research results in the form of scientific publications in journals indexed in the SCOPUS or Web of Science database;
  • participation in scientific conferences/symposia (domestic and foreign);
  • participation in workshops and trainings to improve professional competence;
  • participation in organizational work for the benefit of the unit and the university;
  • other tasks assigned by the head of the unit, resulting from the profile and nature of the unit and the university.

Requirements for the candidate:

  • holds at least a doctoral degree in engineering or science in the disciplines of civil engineering, surveying and transportation, earth and environmental sciences, mathematics, physical sciences, computer science;
  • speaks English at the level of min. B2;
  • has knowledge of AI techniques for prediction,
  • has experience in remote sensing;
  • meets the criteria indicated in Article 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science dated July 20, 2018:
  • enjoys full public rights;
  • has full legal capacity;
  • has not been/is not convicted by a final judgment of an intentional crime or an intentional fiscal crime;
  • has not been punished with the disciplinary penalty of expulsion from the university with a ban on working in universities for a period of 6 months to 5 years or deprivation of the right to practice the profession of academic teacher for a period of 10 years.

We offer:

  • full-time fixed-term employment;
  • period of employment: 30 months;
  • start date: October 1, 2024;
  • remuneration, which will consist of a base salary, a seniority bonus and an incentive system;
