announces an open competition for the position of assistant professor in a group of research workers
at the Institute of Environmental Engineering
as part of the project titled:
„Future Agricultural Resource Management and Water Innovations for a Sustainable Europe”
(FARMWISE) from Horizon Europe Programme
Description of tasks in the position:
- co-creating water management strategies in agriculture;
- collecting, processing and analyzing data on water quality and quantity in agricultural and natural areas;
- assessment of extreme events and technical solutions in agriculture;
- the use of artificial intelligence in water management support systems;
- conducting research activities in the area of shaping and protecting water resources in agricultural and natural areas as well as techniques and technologies to increase the efficiency of improving and protecting the quality of surface and groundwater, including obtaining external funds for the implementation of research projects;
- dissemination of research results in the form of scientific publications in journals indexed in the SCOPUS or Web of Science database;
- participation in scientific conferences/symposia (domestic and foreign);
- participation in workshops and training to improve professional competences;
- participation in organizational work for the unit and the university;
- other tasks assigned by the head of the unit, resulting from the profile and nature of the unit and university.
Requirements for the candidate:
- has at least a doctoral degree in agricultural sciences in the field of environmental protection and management or engineering and technical sciences in the discipline of environmental engineering, mining and energy or in related sciences;
- knows English at a minimum level. B2;
- knows database language and has experience in creating relational databases;
- knowledge of postgreSQL and postGIS is desirable;
- knows Python at a basic level (creating functions and queries to transfer data);
- can process spatial and in-situ data.
- meets the criteria indicated in Art. 113 of the Act of July 20, 2018, Law on Higher Education and Science:
- enjoys full public rights;
- has full legal capacity;
- has not been convicted by a final judgment of an intentional crime or an intentional fiscal offence;
- has not been punished with a disciplinary penalty of expulsion from a university with a ban on working in universities for a period of 6 months to 5 years or deprivation of the right to practice as an academic teacher for a period of 10 years.
