announces an open competition for the position of
assistant professor in the group of research and teaching staff
in the Department of Physics and Biophysics
Description of tasks in the position:
- conducting research activities in the area of science and life sciences (biotechnology, biology), including obtaining external funds for the implementation of research projects;
- Preparing and teaching classes in physics and biophysics in Polish and English;
- Dissemination of research results in the form of scientific publications in journals indexed in the SCOPUS or Web of Science database;
- Participation in scientific conferences/symposia (national and international);
- Participation in workshops and trainings to improve teaching and research skills and professional competence;
- Participation in organizational work for the benefit of the unit and the university;
- other tasks assigned by the head of the unit, resulting from the profile and nature of the unit and the university.
Requirements for the candidate:
- has at least a doctoral degree in exact and natural sciences in the field of physics, physical chemistry or biological sciences in the discipline of biophysics or in related sciences;
- has teaching experience at the academic level in conducting classes in physics, biophysics or physical chemistry;
- has research experience in the field of biophysics of cell membranes, cells, biological model systems and biomolecules, e.g. proteins, lipids;
- can determine the biological activity of various compounds/substances using a number of methods, e.g. spectrophotometry, fluorescence spectroscopy, including time-resolved spectroscopy (TCSPC), microscopy, calorimetry, DLS;
- knows the techniques of liposome formation;
- has the ability to operate specialized equipment, e.g. spectrofluorimeter (FluoTime 300), FTIR spectrophotometer, Zetasiser Nano, fluorescence microscope or AFM;
- has knowledge of programs for data processing and analysis, e.g. OriginLab, ChemDraw, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
- has scientific achievements published in scientific journals indexed in the Scopus and/or Web of Science database;
- has scientific achievements in the form of presentations at scientific conferences and seminars;
- has experience in implementing and/or managing research projects financed from external sources, including: ERC, NCN, NCBR, MEiN, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development;
- has a certificate in the form of a decision on the award and/or settlement of a research project - in the case of experience in project management;
- knows Polish in speech and writing;
- knows English at a minimum level. B2;
- meets the criteria indicated in Art. 113 of the Act of July 20, 2018, Law on Higher Education and Science:
- enjoys full public rights;
- has full legal capacity;
- has not been convicted by a final judgment of an intentional crime or an intentional fiscal offence;
- has not been punished with a disciplinary penalty of expulsion from a university with a ban on working in universities for a period of 6 months to 5 years or deprivation of the right to practice as an academic teacher for a period of 10 years.
