invites applications for the position of
assistant professor in the group of research and teaching staff
in the Department Automatic Control and Computer Engineering
Job description:
1) the competition for this position is open to applicants, who meet the requirements specified in the Act from 20th July 2018 of the Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws from 2021, item 478, as amended) and the Statute of the Cracow University of Technology (attachment to the Senate resolution no. 54/o/05/2019, from 3rd May 2019, § 58) for the position of assistant professor in the group of research and teaching staff,
2) estimated work commencement date: 01.10.2023,
3) workplace and type of contract: Department of Automatic Control and Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, full-time employment contract, tenure track
4) the first period of employment: fixed-term from 1.10.2023 to 30.09.2025
5) represented scientific discipline: automation, electronics, electrical engineering and space technologies (at least 75% share)
1. Necessary requirements:
- Completed full-time studies and MSc/ME degree in the field of automatic control/ automatic control and robotics, information technology (or related fields)
- PhD degree in the discipline automation, electronics, electrical engineering and space technologies , information and communication technology (ICT)
(or related disciplines under the condition of holding MSc/ME degree in a field connected with automatic control or information technology)
- Significant achievements during master and/or doctoral studies and/or previous professional career, including scientific publications, patents, taking part in research or R&D projects etc.
- Strong commitment to research, teaching and organizational work
- Documented good command of Polish and English (B2 level minimum)
- Completed pedagogical course or willingness to complete the course within the first year of employment
2. Scope of tasks at the position of assistant professor in the group of research
and teaching staff:
- Preparing and conducting classes (including lectures) in Polish and in English in the field of Electrical Engineering and Automatic Control (all levels) and/or Computer Science and Engineering (undergraduate level) - according to the employment regulations at the Cracow University of Technology the assigned teaching load is 240 class hours per academic year, including: classes within Erasmus + programme, supervising theses, consultations for students etc.
- Conducting scientific research (as part of a team or independent) documented in scientific publications mainly in the faculty disciplineautomation, electronics, electrical engineering and space technologies.
Faculty discipline automation, electronics, electrical engineering and space technologies was granted A category in the recent evaluation process, and
the candidate is expected to strongly contribute to the next evaluations.
- Taking care of didactic laboratories, preparing instructions and didactic materials for conducted classes, carrying out exams, tests etc.
- Organizational work in the department, faculty and at the university, including taking part in university councils, committees etc.
3. Required documents:

- Detailed CV containing the course of previous employment
- Copies of documents certifying the completion of full time studies with MSc/ME degree in the field of automatic control/ automatic control and robotics, information technology (or related fields)
- Copy of PhD diploma in the discipline automation, electronics, electrical engineering and space technologies or information and communication technology (or similar, if the candidate completed studies related toautomatic control/ automatic control and robotics or information technology)
- List of publications/patents and other achievements constituting the candidate's scientific output – journals and conferences included on the following list published by the Ministry of Education and Science are preferred:

- Candidate’s declaration that the Cracow University of Technology will be his/her primary place of employment
- Statement of full legal capacity and no criminal record (according to the Article 113 of the Polish Higher Education Act).
Employment takes place after the competition procedure consisting of:
- evaluation of submitted documentation,
- recruitment interviews.

Cracow University of Technology reserves the right to contact only the candidates, whose applications meet the necessary requirements and are rated highest by the evaluation committee. Information about the results of the competition will be published in the WWW service BIP PK and at the website of the Ministry of Education and Science, Republic of Poland.
The submitted documents can be collected at the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering (address above) on 3-10.07.2023. All documents that are not collected during this time period will be destroyed by the commission.
