Employment in the position of an Assistant Professor in the group of research and teaching employees at the Institute of General and Ecological Chemistry at the Lodz University of Technology.

The research topics carried out by the employee will include:

- synthesis of a new coordination compounds, with particular emphasis on ligands with pharmacological applications;

- investigations of properties responsible for biological activity of the those compounds;

- development and optimization of crystallization as applied to coordination compounds;

- single crystal x-ray analysis.

Expectations to be met by candidates:

- planning and conducting scientific experiments in the field of coordination chemistry and X-ray structure analysis;

- conducting lessons for students in either Polish or English;

- participation in research projects;

- participation in the Institute scientific life;

- preparation and publishing of scientific publications in the journals listing in the JCR including correspondence with journals editors.

Requirements to be met by candidates:

- Ph.D. degree in chemical sciences and the engineer title;

- scientific achievements in the field of coordination chemistry and x-ray analysis documented by at least 5 publications from JCR list in which the candidate is the first and corresponding author;

- documented scientific internship in highly respected foreign research institution lasting not less than 5 weeks;

- at least 5 years of research experience in synthesis and analysis of new coordination compounds;

- experience in scientific experiments in the field of coordination chemistry and x-ray analysis;

- experience in analytical techniques including: UV-Vis spectroscopy, FTIR spectroscopy, atomic absorption spectrometry and x-ray analysis;

- thorough experience in using TGA analyzers;

- fluent in spoken and written Polish, good knowledge of English necessary for writing and editing scientific publications;

- experience in university lecturing in Polish in the field of analytical chemistry, industrial analytical chemistry and instrumental analysis;

- documented active participation in scientific conferences at either national or international levels;

- ability to independently design and perform scientific experiments and analyse results;

- documented knowledge of quality management systems according to ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9001.

Desired additional skills:

- ability to work in a team;

- independence and ability to make decisions;

- openness to new concepts, ease of learning.
