The candidate should meet the following requirements:
- PhD in Earth Sciences, geology with a specialization in geophysics or related or exact field of study (physics, mathematics, computer science, related)
- experience in working in seismic projects will be an additional advantage
- good command of spoken and written English
- good knowledge of unix/linux and MS Windows operating systems
- programming skills in one (or more) of: C/C ++, python, Matlab, Fortran, bash/tcsh scripts
- ability to organize work independently, creativity
- enthusiasm and motivation for scientific work
Additional advantages will be:
- practical knowledge of seismic / geophysical data processing systems (e.g. Seismic Unix, ProMAX, Generic Mapping Tools, ObsPy, SAC)
- possession of a car driving license
- knowledge of other foreign languages
Job description:
- technical works, preparation of the experiments
- field experimental work
- in preparing the collected field data for interpretation
- interpretative works, 2D and 3D seismic modelling
- in the preparation of presentations and publications
- planning and preparation of new research projects
- preparation and submission of grant applications
- educational and research popularization activities
Conditions of employment:
• Employment for 1 year at the beginning, then permanent employment
• expected salary PLN 4,300.00 net
• Full-time employment
