Offer Description

Requirements:

- PhD in humanities in the discipline of linguistics or related, obtained up to 7 years before the announcement of the competition;

- proven track record of research on the linguistic heritage in Poland, in particular in the area of ​​Masuria and former Prussia, confirmed in publications;

- experience in conducting field research;

- knowledge of the sociolinguistic conditions of minority groups in Central and Eastern Europe;

- excellent knowledge of English and Polish (at least C1 level) and a selected minority language or ethnolect;

- experience in obtaining and implementing grants financed by external institutions (e.g. NCN, NPRH, NCBiR, European grants).

 

Additional qualifications:

- at least basic knowledge of German;

- knowledge of other European languages, including a minority language;

- proposal for an individual or team research project;

- experience in teaching and dissemination of science.

The interview will take place by the end of May 2024. During the interview, the candidate will be asked to present his/her research plan and ideas for grant applications.

Employment is scheduled to start on 1st June 2024 for a fixed period with the possibility of extending the employment contract for an indefinite period.

The committee will make their decision according to the rules and regulations of the Institute of Slavic Studies PAS, maintained on the website (Job Offers).

A person recruited for work will receive opportunities to travel to foreign research centers under contracts concluded by the Institute of Slavic Studies PAS, assistance in preparing grant applications, and stable employment. The person will be asked to submit to the Institute of Slavic Studies PAS declarations about the academic field and discipline, about including into the academic potential of the Institute in a relevant discipline, about affiliation of academic achievements at the Institute of Slavic Studies PAS and about the primary place of work.
