University of Wrocław opens the call for applications for the position of assistant professor in the Department of General Economic Theory at the Institute of Economic Sciences at the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics

Applications are invited from the candidates fulfilling the statutory requirements specified in the Higher Education Act dated 20th July 2018 (O.J. 2018, section 1668) and the Statute of the University of Wroclaw.

 

Conditions of the competition

Requirements

Possession of at least a doctoral degree in economics in the discipline of economics and finance.

In the case of a foreign candidate, fluency in Polish is required (in order to verify readiness for an interview in Polish) to the extent that it is possible to conduct classes in this language (if the successful candidate will conduct such classes).

Knowledge of spoken and written English is expected, to the extent that it is possible to prepare and conduct classes in this language.

Possession of scientific achievements in line with the research plans of the Institute of Economic Sciences in the discipline: economics and finance, confirmed by publications in this discipline, in particular in the field of macroeconomic theory.

Competencies, qualifications and experience, enabling the proper implementation of classes, in particular in the following subjects: macroeconomics, microeconomics in Polish and English.

Cooperation with foreign and domestic scientific centers, including participation in scientific conferences.

Experience in organizational work for universities.

Clarified plans for conducting research and scientific development in the discipline: economics and finance, coinciding with the evaluation criteria.

Submission of a statement to conduct scientific research only in the discipline of economics and finance 100%.

Experience and skills in popularization of economics (important in economic classes for non-economic studies).

Personal integrity.

 

Responsibilities

Teaching and organizational work related to the implementation and organization of the didactic process in the scope and dimension provided for the position of assistant professor in accordance with the current internal normative acts of the University of Wroclaw, in particular in the following subjects: macroeconomics, macroeconomics 2, microeconomics.

Conducting scientific research, national and international cooperation in research activities.

Scientific activity in the discipline of economics and finance according to accepted standards at UWr (publication of scientific papers in high-scoring journals of international and national scope).

Organizational activity in the Faculty and Institute, performing organizational work for the benefit of the University, the Faculty and the Institute.

Performing other tasks and activities related to the implementation and organization of the teaching process as indicated by the Director of the Institute of Economic Sciences.

Conducting scientific research in economic sciences in the discipline of economics and finance, including applying for internal, national and international grants, in accordance with the criteria established by the relevant Discipline Council.

Publication of scientific research results with the affiliation "University of Wroclaw" and their reliable documentation through the WPAE Library.

Compliance with the provisions of copyright and related rights in teaching, scientific and creative activities.

Declaration that the candidate will conduct 100% of his/her research in the discipline of Economics and Finance (download Declaration of scientific discipline ).

A presentation containing the characteristics of previous scientific, teaching and other achievements in the field of organization and popularization of science. The material should also include information on mobility and refer to the criterion of internationalization.

A list of scientific publications (for a period of no more than 10 years), previous teaching experience and other achievements in the field of organization of scientific life and popularization of science.

Electronic versions of the two most important publications that the candidate considers representative of his/her scientific achievements.
