We invite applications for the position of Assistant Professor (adjunct) at the Institute of Plant Breeding and Acclimatization (IHAR), a National Research Institute located in Radzików. The successful candidate will join the team at the Laboratory of Genetically Modified Organisms.

Skills/Qualifications

General Requirements for the Assistant Professor Position:

  • Doctoral degree, confirmed by a diploma or resolution of the Scientific Council.
  • Scientific achievements, including at least three publications in journals listed in the Journal Citation Report (JCR), with one being published or accepted after the submission of the doctoral thesis, where the candidate is the leading or corresponding author.
  • Scientific and research internship completed in a national scientific center other than IHAR.

Specific Requirements

Specific Requirements for the Assistant Professor Position at IHAR in the Laboratory of Genetically Modified Organisms:

Required Experience:

  • Planning and conducting nucleic acid amplification analyses (PCR, qPCR, digital PCR).
  • Isolation and purification of nucleic acids.
  • Designing primers and probes.
  • Detection and quantification of DNA and RNA sequence copies.
  • Experience in plant tissue culture.
  • Experience in plant genetic transformation.
  • Implementation of scientific projects.
  • Knowledge of regulations governing the use of GMOs in Poland and the EU.
  • Familiarity with GMO risk assessment requirements.
  • Additional Assets:

  • Knowledge of ISO 17025 standard requirements.
  • Experience working in an accredited laboratory.
  • Familiarity with requirements for the validation of GMO analysis methods in the EU.
  • Certification as an internal auditor and quality manager in a research laboratory.
