Project and Action description

The “Excellence Initiative – Research University” is a programme of the minister responsible for higher education and science, which enables the University of Warsaw to raise the level of its research activities, the quality of education and accordingly, the international recognition of the University.

The recruited persons will perform duties as part of POB V “Responding to Global Challenges”.

Priority Research Area (POB) V creates a platform for cooperation among researchers representing various disciplines of social sciences – from economists to sociologists. It implements innovative research projects at the European and global level, which address the most important challenges in today's world. Growing economic and social inequalities, the increasing scale, selectivity, and diversity of mobility, the digital transformation, and ubiquitous systemic risk are global phenomena, though they are anchored in local and regional processes and structures. At the local and regional level -- focusing on Poland and Central and Eastern Europe, while maintaining a broad European and global context -- researchers from the University of Warsaw will seek answers to questions about the specificity of these phenomena, their conditions, dynamics, and consequences.
