RECTOR

OF MARIA CURIE-SKŁODOWSKA UNIVERISTY IN LUBLIN

announces a competition for Department of Inorganic Chemistry, at the Institute of Chemical Sciences, the Faculty of Chemistry UMCS

The competition may be entered by individuals who meet the requirements specified in the Act on Higher Education and Science of July 20, 2018 (i.e. Journal of Laws of 2021, item 478) and in the UMCS Statute of May 29, 2019, as amended.

I. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA OF THE COMPETITION:

- at least a master's degree in chemistry,

- teaching and research aptitude, confirmed by an appropriate opinion of a person with the academic title of professor or the academic degree of habilitated doctor,

-experience in laboratory work in the field of separation of inorganic compounds using chromatographic and extraction methods;

- experience in working in a similar position;

- experience in acquiring, managing and implementing research projects;

- proven record of scientific achievements in the field of separation of inorganic compounds (confirmed by international publications);

- ability to conduct scientific research combined with good organization of own work;

- the ability to present research results, communication skills and the ability to work in a team;

- teaching experience in higher education;

- organizational experience;

- very good command of Polish and English (spoken and written).

II. APPLICATION FOR THE COMPETITION SHOULD INCLUDE:

- an application requesting employment addressed to the Rector of UMCS;

- a copy of the master’s degree;

- a personal questionnaire and CV;

- a list of scientific publications;

- a list of scientific, teaching and organizational achievements;

- a declaration of compliance with the requirements specified in the Act on Higher Education and Science of July 20, 2018 (i.e. Journal of Laws of 2021, item 478);

- a candidate's declaration that UMCS will be their primary workplace;

- a candidate's declaration that they agree to the processing of personal data in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter a) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation);

- references, opinion confirming candidate’s sufficient teaching and research aptitude.

III. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

- full-time employment under a fixed-term employment contract from February 1, 2022 to January 31, 2023 in the primary workplace.

The deadline for submitting documents is January 3, 2022, the date of receipt of documents is decisive.

The competition will be settled no later than January 31, 2022.

The university does not provide housing.

The settlement of the competition does not result in establishing an employment relationship. The decision on employment is made by the Rector. The University reserves the right to close the competition without a decision.

Candidates are required to provide data in the scope resulting from Article 22 of the Labour Code and specific provisions concerning employment in a given position. Providing data in a broader scope than required by the provisions is voluntary. In accordance with Articles 15 to 21 and Article 77 of the General Data Protection Regulation, the data subject has the right to access, rectify, delete or limit processing, and the right to object to the processing, as well as to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, as well as the right to transfer data. The collected personal data will not be sold or made available to third parties, except for those authorized under the law, nor will they be transferred to third countries or international organizations, contrary to the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation.

The data will be processed by UMCS during the recruitment period, and in the case of data processed on the basis of consent, until a possible objection is raised or consent is withdrawn, and after that time for archival purposes, in accordance with UMCS procedures, as well as for the purposes and for the period and in to the extent required by law to secure any claims.
