invites applications for the position of
assistant in the group of research and teaching staff

in the Department Automatic Control and Computer Engineering

 

Job description:

 

1) the competition for this position is open to applicants, who meet the requirements specified in the Act from 20th July 2018 of the Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws from 2021, item 478, with amendments) and the Statute of the Cracow University of Technology (attachment to the Senate resolution no. 54/o/05/2019, from 29th May 2019, § 57) for the position of assistant professor in the group of research and teaching staff,

2) estimated work commencement date: 01.10.2024,

3) workplace and type of contract: Department of Automatic Control and Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, full-time employment, renewable contract

4) the first period of employment: fixed-term from 1.10.2024 to 30.09.2026

5) represented scientific discipline: information and communication technology and space technologies

6) The salary is adequate to the post and university provisions.

 

 

1. Necessary requirements:

 

• Completed full-time studies and MSc/ME degree in the field of information technology (or related fields)
• Significant achievements during master studies and/or previous professional career, including scientific publications, patents, participation in student scientific associations or competitions, completed domestic or foreign internships etc.
• Strong commitment to research, teaching and organizational work
• Very good command of English (B2 level minimum) and Polish (in case of foreigners)
• Completed pedagogical course or willingness to complete the course within the first year of employment

 

2. Scope of tasks at the position of assistant in the group of research

    and  teaching staff:

 

• Preparing and conducting classes in Polish in the fields: Computer Science and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Automatic Control according to the employment regulations at the Cracow University of Technology - the assigned teaching load is 240 class hours plus consultations for students
• Conducting interdisciplinary scientific research (as part of a team or independent) with significant use of knowledge and Information technologies, documented in scientific publications mainly in the discipline of  automation, electronic, electrical engineering and space technologies(official faculty discipline)

The faculty discipline is now ranked A and prospective employees are expected to significantly contribute to the next evaluation in the period
2024-2025.

• Taking care of didactic laboratories, preparing instructions and didactic materials for conducted classes, carrying out exams, tests etc.
• Working in research projects within the faculty, taking part in cooperation with the industry etc.
• Organizational work in the department, faculty and/or university

 

              3. Required documents (in English):

 

• Application for employment as assistant in the group research and teaching staff addressed to the Rector of the Cracow University of Technology
• Detailed CV containing the course of education and previous employment
• Copies of documents certifying the completion of full time studies with MSc/ME degree in the field of information technology (or equivalent)
• List of publications/patents (if any) and other achievements constituting the candidate's scientific output (journals and conferences included on the following list published by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education announced on Jan 5th 2024 are preferred:

• Certificate of completion of a pedagogical course or commitment to complete the course within the first year of employment
• Document confirming good command of English, and in the case of foreigners a document confirming knowledge of Polish language
• Letter of recommendation for the post of assistant professor in the group of research and teaching staff (for example from the thesis supervisor or manager)

• Candidate’s declaration that the Cracow University of Technology will be his/her primary place of employment
• Statement of full legal capacity and no criminal record (according to the Article 113 of the Polish Higher Education Act).

 

Employment takes place after the competition procedure consisting of:

 

• evaluation of submitted documentation,
• recruitment interviews.

The folder with documents should include the following note: It concerns the competition for the position of an assistant in the group of research and teaching staff in the Department of Automatic Control and Computer Engineering. Email topic should be the same.

            The expected date of the competition outcome: 12.06.2024

 

Cracow University of Technology reserves the right to contact only the candidates, whose applications meet the necessary requirements and are rated highest by the competition committee. Information about the results of the competition will be published on the BIP PK and at the website of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

 

The submitted documents can be picked up from the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering (room 203) on 17-21.06.2024, 9:00 am- 3:00 pm.

All documents unclaimed during this time period will be destroyed by the commission.
