Requirements for the candidate:

  • Master's degree in microbiology, biotechnology or related sciences;
  • The knowledge of research techniques in the field of microbiology, biotechnology and molecular biology, incl. study of the action of biologically active compounds - determining their antimicrobial activity, cytotoxicity (work on cell lines preferable), mutagenicity, hemolysis, ability to complex DNA, as well as the study of adhesion processes, viability and eradication processes of biofilm and the knowledge of methods of isolation and electrophoretic separation of nucleic acids, microscopy methods (including fluorescence). An additional advantage will be the knowledge of chromatographic techniques, incl. (HPLC) and practical experience in the quantitative and qualitative analysis of lipids.
  • Proven scientific achievements (publications from the Ministerial A list and participation in conferences).
  • A good command of spoken and written Polish and English.
  • Didactic experience in the field of conducting laboratory classes at university, including techniques used in microbiology and biotechnology.
  • An additional advantage will be research internships and trainings, courses to acquire new skills in professional work and participation in the implementation of research grants (financed from external sources) as a contractor or manager.
  • After employment, the candidate will conduct research in the discipline of biological sciences.
  • Responsibilities in the area of:

  • research:
    • conducting experimental research carried out in the Department on the following topics: determining biological activity of quaternary ammonium salts of various chemical structures against microorganisms that differ in the structure of cell walls and their interactions with DNA; studying mechanisms of cationic surfactants on microbial cells; studying the mechanisms of microorganisms resistance to quaternary ammonium salts,
    • following scientific reports in international journals,
    • preparing scientific publications,
    • active participation in scientific conferences.
  • didactics:
    • conducting classes including techniques used in microbiology and biotechnology – incl. Methods in microbiology - preparation, Laboratory techniques for microbiologists,
    • supervising volunteers and students carrying out research in the Department.
  • organization:
    • activities for the dissemination of science as part of the Lower Silesian Science Festival and the Night of Biologists,
    • participation in creating new subjects and study programs.

    In terms of internationalization:

    • Participation in international conferences.

    Self-presentation clearly indicating how the candidate meets the call requirements, referring separately to the criterion of scientific activity, the criterion of international cooperation and the criterion of organizational activity.

  • List of scientific publications of the candidate for a period not exceeding 10 years.
  • Electronic versions of the two most important publications (or manuscripts of unpublished works) that the candidate considers representative of his or her scientific achievements, or an explanation of the lack of them, assuming that the Chairman of the Recruitment Committee may expect all or selected scientific publications or other documents to be submitted.
