RECTOR OF THE SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY  announces the competition for the position  of assistant in the group of teaching employees in the Department of Geoengineering and Resource Exploitation at the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation   at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, 2A Akademicka St.

Job description:
1) the competition for the position of assistant is open to persons who meet the requirements specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742, as amended) and the Statute of the Silesian University of Technology of 3 June, 2019 (Legal Monitor of SUT of 2020, item 339 as amended),
2) estimated work commencement date: 01.10.2024,
3) workplace and type of contract: Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation, Department of Geoengineering and Resource Exploitation, full-time employment contract,
4) period of employment: from 01.10.2024  to 30.09.2026 (with possibility of extension).

Requirements:
1) Master's degree in the field of engineering sciences, in the scientific discipline: environmental engineering, mining and energy, specialty mining geodesy,
2) predisposition to work as an academic teacher,
3) participation in the development of the curriculum of the subject covering the range of issues in the field of geodesy and cartography,
4) proficiency in the Polish language to the extent that it is possible to carry out teaching activities,
5) knowledge of a modern foreign language to the extent that allows the implementation of teaching activities,
6) possessed knowledge of general geodesy, engineering geodesy, cartography, Spatial Information Systems, including the basics of databases and programming in geodesy, map editing and spatial data modeling.

Additional requirements:
1) participation in the development of a program for more than one subject covering the field of geodesy and cartography – is welcome,
2) ability to operate surveying equipment,
3) ability to operate computer programs in the field of geodesy and cartography: AcadGEO, C-Geo, Visual Studio, Geo-Info, TurboEWID, 
4) ability to design in AutoCAD in 2 D and 3D environment,
5) possession of licenses in the field of geodesy and cartography, with at least one scope,
6) active participation in at least several conferences in the field of geodesy and cartography, 
7) knowledge of software engineering, including programming in C++,
8) ability to program in C# language,
9) at least several years of work experience in a geodetic and information technology company will be an additional advantage,
10) experience in teaching in the field of geodesy and cartography in the subject matter:  Spatial Information Systems, fundamentals of databases and programming in geodesy, map editing and spatial data modeling,
11) completed postgraduate studies in the field of, for example, divisions and demarcations of real estate, valuation and real estate management will be an additional advantage.

9) opinion of at least one academic teacher with the academic title of professor or academic degree of doctor of science - scientific supervisor or thesis supervisor regarding the candidate's predisposition to work as an academic teacher, 
10) other documents confirming the fulfillment of the requirements and additional requirements.
