RECTOR OF THE SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY announces the competition for the position of assistant in a group of research and teaching employees in the Department of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Microelectronics at the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, 2A Akademicka St.

Job description:

1) the competition for the position of assistant is open to persons who meet the requirements specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2022, item 574, as amended) and the Statute of the Silesian University of Technology of 3 June, 2019 (Legal Monitor of SUT of 2020, item 339 as amended),

2) estimated work commencement date: 01.10.2022,

3) workplace and type of contract: Department of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Microelectronics at the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science, full time employment contract,

4) period of employment: from 01.10.2022 to 30.09.2026 (with the possibility of extension for indefinite period).

Requirements:

1) title of master or master engineer in the field of automation, electronic and electrical engineering or information and communication technology; preferred in electronics and telecommunication,

2) proficiency in Polish, in speaking and writing,

3) knowledge of the English language, sufficient enough to conduct classes.

Additional requirements:

1) documented scientific output in the form of international publications,

2) proficiency in hardware description languages Verilog or VHDL; skills in programming (assembler, C, C# or C++),

3) skills in system level design (knowledge of SystemVerilog or SystemC), knowledge of modern system level verification methods,

4) design skills with use of modern programmable devices of FPGA type and knowledge of such tools as Xilinx VIVADO,

5) knowledge of contemporary microprocessor systems and simulation tools,

6) knowledge of CADENCE design environment,

7) ability to work in a team and motivation for research work,

8) experience in teaching fundamentals of electrical engineering,

9) internship with a company that designs modern electronic systems.

5) the opinion of at least one academic staff member with the academic title of professor or the degree of doctor of science regarding candidate’s predisposition to work as a research and teaching employee,

6) a cover letter with personal development plan including the scientific research goals,

7) a declaration that the Silesian University of Technology will be the primary place of work,

8) a certificate confirming proficiency in Polish (only for candidates for which Polish is not a native language).
