RECTOR OF THE SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY  announces the competition for the position of assistant in the Department of Chemical Organic Technology and Petrochemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, 2A Akademicka St.

Job description:
1) the competition is open to persons who meet the requirements specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742, as amended) and the Statute of the Silesian University of Technology of 3 June, 2019 (Legal Monitor of SUT of 2020, item 339 as amended),
2) estimated work commencement date: March 2024.
3) workplace and type of contract: Department of Chemical Organic Technology and Petrochemistry, full-time employment contract,
4) expected period of employment: from March 2024 to February 2025 (with possibility of extension). 

Requirements:
1) master's degree or master's degree in engineering in the field of technical sciences in chemical engineering or related discipline,
2) significant record of publications and organizational achievements, including participation in thematic conferences and symposiums,
3) proficient knowledge of the Polish language in both speech and writing, enabling the conduct of teaching activities,
4) English language proficiency at a minimum B2 level.

Additional requirements:
1) scientific experience in the field of chemical sciences, chemical engineering, and technology, publications in highly rated journals from the Ministry of Education and Science's list will be an additional advantage,
2) experience in scientific collaboration and participation in research projects,
3) experience in supervision of students and graduates,
4) experience in conducting teaching activities in the field of chemical engineering and technology will be an additional advantage,
5) experience in laboratory work, knowledge of operating equipment used in analysis (f.e. GC, GC-MS, IR).

4) information about scientific achievements and experience, as well as information about the direction of future activities,
5) declaration of active knowledge of the English language,

8) opinion of the scientific supervisor or thesis advisor regarding the candidate's predispositions for research and teaching work.
