RECTOR OF THE SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY announces a competition for the position assistant in a group of research and teaching staff at the Department of Road Transport at the Faculty of Transport and Aeronautical Engineering at the Silesian University of Technology based in Gliwice at ul. Akademicka 2A

Job description:
1) the competition for the position of assistant is open to persons who meet the requirements specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742, as amended) and the Statute of the Silesian University of Technology of 3 June, 2019 (Legal Monitor of SUT of 2020, item 339 as amended), as an assistant,
2) estimated work commencement date: 01.10.2024
3) workplace and type of contract: Department of Road Transport at the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering, full-time employment contract, 
4) period of employment: from     01.10.2024 to 30.09.2026 (with the possibility of extension).
Requirements:
1) master's degree in the field of engineering, transport preferred,
2) participation in thematic conferences and symposia,
3) knowledge of the English language to an extent that allows communication and teaching classes, at least B2 level,
4) knowledge of Polish language in speech and writing, confirmed– applies to candidates for which Polish is not a native language.
Additional requirements:
1) scientific output, in particular with maintenance of motor vechicles,
2) authorship or co-authorship of bulleted scientific publication,
3) experience in teaching, including classes in the field of transport,
4) participating in scientific and research works corresponding to the research profile of the Department of Road Transport,
6) knowledge and skills in the field of data acquisition, monitoring and analysis in scientific research, 
7) knowledge and skills in the field of gas fuel storage and supply systems.
Required documents:
1) application for employment / letter of motivation,
2) documents confirming obtaining degrees and titles (copies of diplomas),
3) professional CV,
4) information on scientific, didactic and organizational achievements and information on the directions of further scientific activity,
5) certificate or declaration of active knowledge of a modern foreign language,
6) a declaration of active knowledge of the Polish language or a document confirming passing the state examination (for candidates for whom Polish is not a native language),
7) a statement that the Silesian University of Technology will be the primary place of work,
8) opinion of an academic teacher with an academic degree or doctoral degree, who is scientifically active in the field of civil engineering and transport, on a candidate's predispositions to work as a research and teaching employee.

2) possibility of active participation in of practical trainings, in research programs and projects, as well as in national and international scientific conferences.
Prospects for professional development:
1) possibility of obtaining the academic doctoral degree in the discipline of civil engineering and transport.
