Skills/Qualifications
- Master's degree in biology or agriculture
- At least 12 months of confirmed work experience in scientific research units of the IHAR-PIB rank or at a university as an assistant, research and technical, engineering and technical or other position relevant to the master's degree
- Documented publication record, consisting of authorship or co-authorship of a work published in a peer-reviewed journal on the JCR list
- Conducting a scientific seminar at a scientific unit or delivering a presentation/lecture at workshops or a scientific conference
- Proficiency in a foreign language
- High level of professional ethics (no criminal record)
Specific Requirements
First option:
• Experience in working with nucleic acids (DNA/RNA isolation);
• Knowledge of molecular biology techniques (PCR, qPCR, molecular markers);
• Familiarity with basic cytomolecular analysis methods (FISH, GISH);
• Experience in working in plant in vitro tissue culture laboratories (generation of DH lines);
• Proficiency in operating basic types of microscopes;
• Basic understanding (minimum level) of statistical methods;
• Field and greenhouse work experience (cross-species hybridization experience is desirable).
Second option:
• Experience in working with nucleic acids (DNA/RNA isolation);
• Familiarity with basic molecular biology techniques (PCR, real-time PCR, molecular markers); • Designing primers for PCR reactions;
• Additional asset: knowledge of reverse transcription reactions on RNA templates (RT-PCR);
• Basic understanding (minimum level) of statistical methods;
• Field and greenhouse work experience;
• Basic knowledge in the field of phytopathology.
For both options:
• Ability to develop and analyze experimental results and disseminate them in the form of scientific articles and conference presentations;
• Proficiency in spoken and written English;
• Communicative skills and ability to work in a team;
• Good organizational skills.
