Skills/Qualifications

Qualification requirements:

  • level of education: a master's degree in architecture and a doctoral degree in the scientific discipline of architecture and urban planning.
  • knowledge of architectural design issues (primarily of historic buildings, under conservation protection, urban planning issues related to the revaluation of historic cities and cultural heritage areas), construction law; regulations, construction and principles of building art, documented by work in the architectural profession.
  • plans for the implementation of research work and preparation of publications in scientific publications and journals from the list of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, as well as determination of the prospects for achieving achievements, enabling scientific and research development that constitute the material for the preparation of a habilitation application.
  • proficiency in the transfer of knowledge, skills and social competence - confirmed by experience of teaching work in teaching at the university level. An important aspect will be experience as a lecturer/adjunct professor at a higher education institution(s); participation in guest lectures outside the home country; participation in national and international conferences; participation in the work of scientific institutions and publications related to the protection of cultural heritage.
  • fluency in Polish and English, both spoken and written; knowledge of German (important for scientific research of Pomeranian cultural traditions) and Italian (the most important scientific sources in the field of architectural history and historic preservation) will be an additional asset.
  • proficient operation of computer aided design programs (CAD environment, PHOTOSHOP and similar).
  • design experience and a construction license to design in the architectural specialty will be an added advantage.
  • It is required that the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin be the main, but not the sole, place of employment.

  • other achievements justifying the employment application,
  • a proof of the knowledge of Polish and English language,
  • a statement that the West Pomeranian University of Technology shall be the applicant’s main place of employment,
  • a consent for processing of personal data for the needs of the recruitment process (pursuant to the Act of 10th May 2018 on Personal Data Protection and the Regulation of the European Parliament and the Council (UE) 2016/679 of 27th April 2016) – attachment no. 1.

    The final date of the selection procedure: 05.06.2024

    The proposed employment period: 01.10.2024 – 30.09.2025 with the possibility of extending the contract

    The competition committee may, in justified cases, decide on holding an additional interview with selected applicants.

    The competition committee is not the authority taking the final decision on employment of the selected applicant.

    The final decision on employment  shall be taken by the Rector.

     


    Additional comments

    The documents submitted may be collected within 30 days of completion of the selection procedure. Unless collected within the above mentioned period, the documents shall be destroyed under supervision.
