Research: The research would be based mostly on preparation and characterization of liposomal formulations containing proteins or peptides. Studies using state-of-the-art kinetics analysis of protein-protein and protein-lipid interactions and in vitro systems based on cell culture would be included. In addition, an employed person would have the opportunity to participate in other tasks within the project. They would include: production of recombinant proteins in various systems, scaling-up liposomal preparation and in vitro and in vivo tests.

Employment: as part of the Medical Research Agency project entitled "Mutation-resistant nano therapeutics inhibiting infection progress of RNA-virus, SARS-CoV-2".

The project coordinator is dr hab. Aleksander Czogalla.

Applications are invited from those who fulfil the statutory requirements specified in the Higher Education Act from 20th July 2018 (Dz. U. z 2018 r., poz. 1668) and the statutes of the University of Wroclaw.

Candidate profile, requirements and qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate should be highly motivated to work as an independent scientist but also be able to collaborate with other team members (including PhD and Master students) of the Department of Cytobiochemistry.
  • PhD in biological, chemical or medical sciences, disciplines: biochemistry, biophysics, cell biology, molecular biology, biotechnology, biomedical engineering.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken).
  • First author of at least one article published in a journal from JCR list.
  • Experience in:
    a) necessary is experience in state-of-the-art cell-based in vitro tests (including quantitation of cell proliferation and apoptosis, evaluation of toxicity, etc.);
    b) biochemical approaches (e.g. SDS-PAGE, western blot, size-exclusion/affinity chromatograpy, etc.) and basic knowledge on liposomal preparation in laboratory and/or technological scale;
    c) well seen would be experience in techniques for quantitation protein-protein and protein-lipid interactions;
    d) well seen would be also experience in protein purification and expression.
