About the position
NHH in Bergen, Norway, invites applicants for a three-year postdoctoral position in labour economics at the Department of Economics . We are looking for an excellent economist with expected completion of PhD no later than date of commencement.
The position is part of the Centre of Excellence, FAIR , and is funded by the Norwegian Research Council through Grant Number 334912. The project focuses on the dynamics of power in labour markets between employers and employees, and seeks to better understand how these dynamics affect workers, firms, communities, and future generations. The research group has large projects on labour unions and monopsony power. The new hire will be encouraged to work on these topics together with the team, but will also be encouraged to develop an individual research agenda in collaboration with the members of the research group. The position will involve moderate administrative duties. The position is based in Bergen, but research travel will be encouraged and there are also opportunities for research stays at collaborating institutions.
The Department of Economics has more than 45 faculty members and is built around a number of internationally renowned research groups in a wide range of fields, providing high quality research and teaching in economics. Besides labour economics, the key research areas at the department are applied microeconomics, behavioural economics, development economics, industrial organisation, macroeconomics, environmental and resource economics, and international trade. The department has an international faculty and is committed to offer an inclusive and supportive work environment with a key focus on carrier opportunities for young faculty.
