About the position 

At the Department of Electric Power Engineering (IEL), there is a vacancy for a postdoctoral fellow.

The position is funded by NTNU's strategic research area “NTNU Energy” , and in addition to research activities involves a number of administrative tasks connected to “NTNU Energy Team Solar” . The postdoctoral fellow will be involved in the work of coordinating and dissemination of the research activities within solar energy at NTNU.


NTNU Energy Team Solar's research activities currently take place at several faculties and departments at NTNU, and include the following areas:

1. Solar cell physics and materials research (silicon technology and third generation solar cells).

2. Solar cell technology (mono- and bifacial, use of tracking).

3. Use of solar cells in stand-alone systems and in buildings (roof, facade, ground, floating, agrophotovoltaics).

4. Integration of photovoltaic systems in the energy system (prediction of production, energy storage).

5. The solar energy potential in Nordic conditions (weather, climate, urban complex phenomena).
