ClexBio is looking for an exceptional scientist to join our R&D team in Oslo, Norway.

Using healthy human stem cells and cutting-edge tissue engineering technologies, ClexBio engineers transplant-ready tissues for patients suffering from severely limiting or life-threatening diseases. Our lead asset is a bioengineered vein graft to address chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) - a medical condition impacting millions of patients globally and with no current treatment options. We work in close collaboration with our world-leading clinical partners in Norway, Austria, and the US, and our engineering partner CSEM in Switzerland. Our scientific foundation builds on the results of more than seven years of R&D from NTNU, Harvard University, EPFL, and the University of Birmingham.

Main responsibilities & activities

  • Responsible for planning, overseeing, and directing cell culture work in line with company strategy; Managing cell biology staff
  • Leading preparation of engineered tissues for preclinical studies with external partners
  • Leading optimization of cell/tissue culture routines and methods; Supporting scale-up of cell/tissue culture routines according to regulatory standards
  • Developing & implementing existing and new SOPs for cell culture tasks, analyses, and assays
  • Supporting routine lab activities including autoclaving, cell banking, etc

Must-have requirements

  • PhD with 2+ years of relevant industry experience or MSc with 5+ years of relevant industry experience within cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related discipline
  • Extensive hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture including basic cell maintenance, media preparation, and cell inventory
  • Proficient with common biological assays to assess cell viability and proliferation
  • Experience with microscopy and immunofluorescent/histochemical analysis
  • Experience with ELN and digital inventory management system
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, plan experiments, and document & report experimental results

Nice-to-have

  • Hands-on experience with 3D cell culture or tissue engineering
  • Experience with assay development
  • Basic experience with in vivo studies
  • Practical experience in a regulated/GMP environment
  • Leadership/management experience
