About the position

At our Department of Information Security and Communication Technology  we have a vacant permanent position as associate professor in communication networks.

The design, development, adaptation and customization of architectures and systems towards critical services are fundamental for fulfilling stringent functional and non-functional requirements. The virtually unlimited possibilities of upcoming architectures and systems like 6G or TSN, resulting from the advances in hardware and software as well as the convergence of computing, communication, and control, render classical ways of for vertical service integration, operation, and management impractical. Such services, with specific emphasis on critical services for society, include but are not limited to verticals like Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), Smart Grids (electricity, water), Manufacturing, Public Services and Health, Financial Systems, Internet of Things (IoT).


The position is announced with a particular focus on communication network architecture and systems for mobile and transport networks, including wired and wireless access, aggregation, and core networks.

The main responsibilities of the position are teaching, research, innovation and dissemination. The position involves specific responsibilities for articulating and advancing the Department’s teaching, research, innovation and dissimination capacities.

You will be assigned to our discipline in communication technology and will report to the Head of Discipline. 

The workplace will be in Trondheim.
