Te āheinga: The opportunity
The objective of the Tuakana role is to support Teina in the programme throughout the academic year. Unitec kaimahi will support the Whai Ake Tuakana and provide the required training to ensure Tuakana are successful in helping new tauira Māori.
The Whai Ake Māori mentoring programme aims to provide a strong support system for tauira Māori in tertiary education. The programme is designed to support tauira to engage with their culture throughout their journey at Te Whare Wānanga o Wairaka and to enhance their leadership capabilities.
He kōrero mōu: About you
You will be a current or recently graduated Unitec ākonga (student) who is dedicated to improving the ākonga experience and able to pass on valuable information and insights by developing Welcome Pack and other Orientation resources for new ākonga. You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills and a commitment to actively engage in efforts to build resilience and aspirations within the ākonga community at Unitec.
