Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a WGTN Hall coordinator to the Student and Campus Living team from February 2023 until November 2023. The WGTN Hall coordinator will be required to be committed for the full academic year. The WGTN Hall coordinator will become a leader in the community, helping to connect students to the university student services. The WGTN Hall coordinator, with support from management, plan and deliver engaging activities in the hall to help students meet new friends, succeed in their studies, and feel connected to the university.
Ō pūmanawa - About you
You will be able to demonstrate actively engaging others in the University and wider community. Your ability to relate well to a wide range of people, calmness under pressure, and positive attitude will have you widely respected.
A Hall Coordinator is also a student so you must be ready to balance the role and your classes, assessments, and exams.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Will be a 3rd year student or higher, or an exceptional 2nd year student
- Is an experienced community builder, and is committed to fostering a vibrant, safe and supportive community
- You will have experience working across cultures, including Māori and Pasifika, and can engage and communicate well with a diverse range of students
- Can work approximately 10 hours a week on a roster, this would be a mixture of daytime, evenings and some weekends
- Is happy to attend training session in February before Trimester 1 commences
- Is happy to complete a range of basic administrative and cleaning tasks when requested
- Truly enjoys meeting and approaching new people, making them feel at ease, and can connect others
