We are looking for a suitably experienced individual part time, to join our highly dedicated team of academic and support staff, to fill the position of Programme Lead Specialist within our viticulture and winemaking area, based at our Marlborough campus. This role is part time, 18.75 hours per week (0.5 FTE). Hours and days of the week to be determined with the successful candidate.
The Marlborough region is the country's largest winegrowing area and is at the forefront of New Zealand's wine industry growth, producing 77 percent of the country's wine, with over 168 wine producers and more than 568 independent growers. NMIT has worked closely with local companies, organisations and industries to develop a full suite of viticulture, winemaking and cellar operations training to support the New Zealand wine industry - from secondary school pathways through to degree level.
This leadership role will be the first point of contact for the specialism and includes programme liaison with related external stakeholders. By developing strong strategic links and partnerships with industry experts and employers you will build sustainable relationships that inform and help shape the future of the curriculum delivery, including in offshore markets.
As a key leadership role, this position will be responsible for:
- leading the delivery team to be creative and bold in curriculum delivery;
- designing and managing delivery of curriculum to meet industry needs and expectations;
- enriching digital learning;
- proactively building strong, sustainable and valued relationships and networks that add value to the programme and benefit current and future learners;
- lead and embed a culture of innovation and continuous improvement that enhances learner experience and educational outcomes;
- ensuring training is proactive and responsive to emerging industry trends;
- line managing and mentoring staff;
- assisting the Curriculum Manager, including ensuring KPI's and budget requirements are met.
To be successful in the role it would be highly desirable to have:
- proven experience of successfully leading a team and managing budgets, preferably in a tertiary education setting,
- experience of having worked and engaged with industry partners, within NZ, to develop and support collaborative and beneficial relationships,
- demonstrated high motivation to drive innovation, deliver quality customer service, ensure effective communication and high levels of integrity,
- sufficient IT and analytical skills to perform the role.
