Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Veterinarian specializing in Radiology to join our team in a permanent full-time capacity. As the ideal candidate you could have post-graduate training but most importantly you must have previous experience in Radiology.

The Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) is equipped with Eklin digital radiography (ceiling mounted gantries and portable machines for both companion animal & equine imaging), several high-quality ultrasound machines, Philips BigBore CT scanner (with dynamic focal spot & metal artifact reducing software) custom-built synchronised Equine CT table, and fluoroscopy.  MRI is available locally.

Āu Mahi | What you will do
  • Provide radiology services by performing and interpreting diagnostic imaging procedures including radiography, ultrasonography, CT scans, and MRI.
  • Under the guidance of the designated academic lead, undertake, the delivery of tutorials, lectures, seminars, practicals, laboratories and workshops, and provide support for student projects, assessment and student interaction. 
  • Collaborate with other veterinarians and specialists to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Provide guidance and support to veterinary technicians and assistants.
  • Stay current with advances in diagnostic imaging technology and techniques.

Requirements:

  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Veterinary Council of New Zealand to enable you to work as a veterinarian. 
  • Advanced Radiology qualifications preferred.
  • Experience in diagnostic imaging including radiography, ultrasonography, CT scans, and MRI.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional veterinary care and client service.

The Salary Range for this role is at a Practicing Veterinarian grade (for 2024), ranging from $81,172 - $103,595 (NZD). Salary will be negotiable by background/experience.
