Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

The Department of Accounting and Information Systems invites applications for suitably qualified candidates for casual teaching assistants, tutors and markers to support its undergraduate and taught-master programmes (multiple positions available) under the direction of the relevant academic staff member.

These positions focus on supporting programs offered by the UC Business School through quality teaching, tutoring and marking in Accounting, Information Systems/Technology and Business Data Analytics subjects at the undergraduate and taught-masters levels. In this position, you will join a department that is focused on supporting student learning and developing employee skills.

Persons with expertise in the following areas are especially encouraged to apply: Management of information systems, Data management and analytics, Programming, Financial accounting, Auditing, Management accounting, Taxation.

Mōu | Who You Are
You will have relevant qualifications and skills in Information Systems / Business Data Analytics / Accounting or related disciplines. You will be a team player, self-organised and enthusiastic in supporting students. Good organisation and communication skills are essential for this position. Experience with teaching or tutoring would be an advantage.

Your skills and experience will include:

  • current study towards an undergraduate degree in the relevant discipline
  • demonstrating academic ability in the relevant subject area
  • proficiency in English (written and oral)
  • previous tutoring and marking experience in a university environment will be an advantage
  • a high level of computer literacy
  • ability to follow instructions with attention to detail

The Department of Accounting and Information Systems is one of three departments within the UC Business School. We provide a collegial environment for tutors and markers to gain experience.

The salary scale is from $23.65 for entry level to $32.00 for experienced candidates.
