The Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences is the largest Academic Faculty within Lincoln University and is made up of four research driven Departments: Agricultural Sciences, Pest-Management and Conservation, Soil and Physical Sciences, and Wine Food and Molecular Biosciences.

Te āhua o Te Tūrunga - the nature of the position

We are inviting applications for a Tutor - Plant Pathology, in a permanent, full-time role in the Department of Pest Management and Conservation.  This Department has a focus on modern approaches and tools in molecular, behavioural, wildlife, plant, and ecosystem ecology and plant protection. Research and teaching is supported by laboratory and field facilities.

As a Tutor, you will provide academic assistance to students enrolled in diploma and undergraduate biology, ecology and plant protection courses taught at Lincoln University.

You will need to have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification, preferably relating to Plant Pathology or Mycology
  • A working knowledge of current teaching and learning practices
  • Ability to work with a range of students from a variety of backgrounds
  • The ability and energy to stimulate and encourage students
  • Patience and empathy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A strong focus on health and safety in the workplace
