About the role

The Test Manager is responsible software testing and coordinating release activities.   Responsibilities include successful scripting, testing, supervision of test analysts and workload management to complete testing deliverables for maintenance, compliance and projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key duties are:

  • creation of a Test Strategy
  • ensuring that system testing is carried out in line with the development programme, and that relevant release documentation is generated before release to the customer
  • ensuring test deliverables are produced within agreed timeframes and adhere to ESR processes and procedures
  • provision of quality control; improvement of processes and outputs
  • to identify impending risks that may compromise achievement of deliverables and initiate steps to mitigate
  • provision of Test Lead services in planning and coordinating testing activities, to ensure successful deployment of all releases and patches to the different testing environments.

Skills and Experience

  • Min of 5yrs experience within the testing arena, at least 2yrs in the Test Management area.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage testing environments and an in-depth understanding of testing methodologies and practices
  • Demonstrated proactive ability to impart knowledge and mentor others in acquiring skills
  • Ability to understand client's needs and priorities in a wider business context
  • Very strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Team lead experience/willingness to help train other team members in all areas of expertise
  • Ability to multitask and receptivity to change in a volatile work environment
  • Ability to anticipate and act to minimise the probability and impact of risks and issues
