The School provides an immersive, student-centred, learning environment that fosters research and innovation through studio-based creative practice. The contemporary portfolio of courses, faculty of internationally recognised leaders in design research and practice, and world-class facilities provide an ideal environment for students to realise their full creative potential.

The Technical Demonstrator role presents a unique opportunity to support teaching and research in a practical, educational environment with experience and knowledge across a range of digital technologies with the operation of rapid, additive, and subtractive manufacturing equipment. Experience and knowledge should include electronics, creative coding and programming, mechatronics, digital knit/weave and embroidery, e-textiles, biomaterials, sustainability and recycling systems. Equipment experience and knowledge should include 3D CAD design, CNC mills, table routers, 3D printers and laser cutters plus software knowledge including Rhinoceros 3D, SolidWorks, Autodesk, VCarve, and Adobe Creative Cloud.

The candidate must be highly motivated and proactive with a proven ability to work both cooperatively and independently and have a willingness and aptitude to learn new skills. You will have the ability to supervise and mentor individuals as well as groups of creative people to effectively use and understand digital maker technologies and maintain safe and healthy work practices. You will have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to adapt to changing demands and conditions to prioritise tasks while remaining calm and focused.

Applicants will have a relevant tertiary qualification and/or proven experience in design or industry using equivalent technology, equipment and practices.
