Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Team Leader to join the Collection Access Team in the Library in a full-time permanent role. The Team Leader role is responsible for the delivery of services within the Collection Access Team, including the operational management of the Library’s resource delivery services and physical collections.

The role also has a strong focus on managing, coaching and developing staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, coach, and mentor the Collection Access team.
  • Lead the planning, development, and management of assigned activities.
  • Contribute to the planning development and management of Collection Access processes and workflows.
  • Undertake high level problem solving, providing advice and expertise in portfolio areas.
  • Collect, monitor and analyse service data and feedback, to ensure services remain efficient, and client centred.

You will be a motivated, customer-focused individual with demonstrated people management skills who enjoys looking for ways to enhance the services delivered by the team.

You will thrive in this role with excellent communication skills, a strong ability to manage yourself and others and the ability to remain calm under pressure. This role is busy, challenging and varied.

You will be a natural relationship builder, who is committed to contributing positively to a high performing team and maintaining a high standard of service to students and staff.

Key Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience leading a successful team or project initiatives.
  • A degree from a higher education institution with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Experience delivering services and support to a diverse range of clients.
  • Proven ability to develop highly effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to assess, troubleshoot and adapt workflows to deliver outcomes within established timelines.
