You may have enjoyed net carbonzero certified Yealands Wine or Steinlager Beer, eaten enviromark Certified Abe's Bagels, cleaned using enviromark Certified Eco Store products or at least know friends or family who have. You may have wondered at times how organisations like Kathmandu, The Warehouse Group and Canterbury University manage their carbon emissions. The short answer: it's our people. The market for our services is growing rapidly as climate action has started to become mainstream, catalysed by several external factors. As a result of both internal and external drivers, we've undertaken a strategic review and developed a comprehensive business case for transformation. As Toitū enters its next phase of growth and digital transformation, we are looking for a Team Lead in our Account Management team, who can support our clients across our different certification programmes, to prepare GHG emissions inventories for audit and to promote their certification.

Key Responsibilities include:

We're seeking a motivated individual with leadership skills and a customer-centric approach to join our team. You'll help our finance sector clients navigate CRD reporting requirements and unlock opportunities to enhance their sustainability credentials. This role is part of the dynamic Account Management team, and you will take a central role in supporting new and existing clients who have committed to engaging in sustainability initiatives and programmes through the Toitū carbon and environmental programmes.

About You

  • You will have a passion for assisting NZ businesses and organisations improve their sustainability and minimise their carbon footprint and impacts on the environment.
  • Experience with sustainability issues across a range of sectors and a range of small, large and complex clients.
  • Ability to think strategically and understand how this flows through to implementation.
  • People management expertise and experience.
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills, particularly systematic and analytical thinking skills coupled with attention to detail.
  • Ability to build relationships across our multidisciplinary domestic and international businesses and client bases and lead change through influence.
  • Track record of delivering results, commercially savvy and skilled.
  • Ability to learn quickly and operate in an ambiguous and fast-moving landscape.
  • Excellent communication skills through all media.
  • A knowledge of and empathy with Te Reo and Tikanga Māori would be desirable.
