An integral part of the success at Manukau Institute of Technology is our Pasifika Team.  Based at our Otara Campus, this team provides support to our staff, students and communities.  With a state of the art one of a kind Pasifika Community Centre, we really do put our Pasifika Community, Staff and Students at the forefront. 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Administrator to join the team.  Reporting to the Senior Pasifika Manager this role will be key in being the face of not only our Pasifika Community Centre but also the HUB of our Otara North Campus - the Quad area. 

The successful candidate will delight in meeting and greeting visitors from our communities, students and staff.  We are looking for someone who wants to be the forefront for our Pasifika Community Centre and our wider Otara Quad.  You will love providing the "best" customer service and meeting and greeting people.  In addition to being the centre of our Quad and Pasifika Community Centre.

This role will be responsible for:

  • Providing administration support to the Pasifika Team including the taking of team meeting minutes. 
  • Looking for ways to improve customer, student and staff engagement within the PCC.
  • Day to day overseeing of the Pasifika Community Centre, including making sure stationary and supplies are available to staff and visitors.
  • Providing finance activities such as invoicing, expenses and financial collation. 
  • Assisting the Pasifika team with administration and presentation of Pasifika events and liaising  with both internal and external stakeholders 
  • Providing support for important committees such as Pasifika Community Advisory Board; Pasifika Academic Committee and others as required by the Senior Pasifika Manager

Our ideal candidate will have the ability to multi task and work autonomously. Expertise in a range of software are packages including advanced Word and intermediate Excel skills are a must. If you thrive in a busy environment and bring strong administration experience you will enjoy this rewarding role that will challenge and encourage you to think outside the square.
