Te Tari Takawaenga Māori - Māori Liaison Services, aspires to lead AUT as a support service of excellence and innovation that is relevant to the Māori communities we serve. Our services have been developed in response to the need for skilled Māori professionals who will play a lead role in the industries and professions they enter. Our services give tauira the tools and support to succeed as Māori and to enhance personal, professional and, cultural development and advancement aspirations. We seek soomeone who can enhance and complement our services.

The Role:
To provide high quality support and advisory services to tauira Māori undertaking postgraduate and undergraduate levels of study at the university. The Te Kaitakawaenga Māori position plays a key role in supporting, advising and advocating for tauira Māori as they transition, transverse and graduate from the university. High quality performance will result in the staff, students and the communities of practice the university serves maximising their capabilities to reach their potential.

About you:

  • Te reo Māori speaker is preferable.
  • Undergraduate qualification in Arts, Education, Māori Development or Psychology.
  • Commitment to tauira Māori through professional development, integrity, enthusiasm and
    approachable manner.
  • Proven experience with supporting tauira Māori succeed in education.
  • Self-motivated person who is able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Salary range: Band D: $84,000 - $103,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications)

This role is considered a children's worker role and will be subject to safety checking as part of the Children's Act 2014 . 

*Full-time denotes 37.5 hours per week
