Systems Engineer

Design, build, implement and maintain enterprise IT systems & services while providing technical & professional support.

Mō te tūka | The role

Use your experience delivering and maintaining systems to support IT services in an enterprise environment at Lincoln University.

Key tasks of the role include:

  • Systems, applications & support - design, build, implement and maintain enterprise IT services.
  • Collaboration - provide technical & professional support, assistance and advice colleagues.

This is a permanent role working 37.5 hours per week based at our Lincoln Campus. We do not provide a 24/7 service, thus no standby schedules for you to worry about. Out of hours work may be required from time to time to assist in project implementations or to troubleshoot.

The remuneration is set at a maximum of $90,000 per annum.

Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in IT (preferred) plus minimum five years experience in a systems engineer role focused on IT services support.
  • Relevant industry recognised qualifications (e.g., MCSE, MCSA: Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure Administrator, O365, AWS Associate, Arista, Linux, CCNA) preferred.
  • Experience of the installation, maintenance and support of enterprise IT systems in virtual environments.
  • Excellent organisation, prioritisation and time management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Advanced level experience of as many of the following as possible: Cloud Technologies (preferably Azure), Microsoft server, including AAD, SQL server, Exchange, Linux, Powershell.

Plus, experience in:

  • Configuration and Management of SaaS applications.
  • VMWare / Nutanix / Hyper-V.
  • Networking (Arista, Wi-Fi, Firewalls)
  • Storage
  • Telephony (Microsoft Teams)
  • SharePoint online.
  • Identity and Access Management.
