System engineer - Supply Chain Connectivity Researcher

Scion specialises in research, science, and technology development for the forestry industry, wood products, and wood-derived materials. We lead new technology development for renewables, bio-products, and energy and the establishment of a broader-based bio-economy.

As the systems engineer, you will lead work project tasks, conduct research and development, collaborate with other organisations, and develop constructive relationships with key stakeholders especially across industry and end-users, to progress the circular bioeconomy, nationally and internationally

What are we looking for?

  • Postgraduate degree in Supply Chain Management or Industrial Systems Engineering, or a related discipline (logistics, operations research, production engineering, systems analysis) and/or At least five years' experience in technical supply chain modeling within industry or a university environment
  • Prior knowledge and experience within a primary production sector, transport sector, or manufacturing sector is essential.
  • Developing knowledge of New Zealand business, forestry, and transport infrastructures.
  • Proven understanding and/or experience in the application of operations research, including demonstrated experience in end-user engagement with tools
  • Experience in research and engaging with stakeholders (within and outside sector), including interviewing skills
  • Highly experienced in systems engineering using modeling and simulation techniques.
