Student Coordinator - Research

Coordinate the admission, enrolment and examination process for research student applicants.

Mō te tūka | The role

Seeking applications for an efficient and experienced administrator, who is passionate about providing professional customer service. You will be excited by challenges and actively seek opportunities to make a positive difference within a busy, supportive team environment.   

Some key tasks of the role include:

  • Admission - applications are assessed, circulated to faculties, students are admitted and given support to arrive on campus and start study.
  • Enrolment - students are supported through the enrolment process and monitored to ensure the university and the student meet compliance requirements.
  • Examination - ensure university regulations are adhered to.
  • Innovation - processes are mapped and improved.

Student Administration is responsible for the delivery of all admission and enrolment services, graduation, timetable, examinations, scholarships and business analysis.

This is a permanent role working 37.5 hours per week based at our Lincoln Campus.  The remuneration range is set at $64,000 - $71,000 per annum, depending on relevant experience.

Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • At least 3 - 5 years administrative experience, preferably in the tertiary education environment.
  • Previous experience communicating important information in a professional manner to people from diverse backgrounds and nationalities.
  • Successful experience interpreting and administering rules and regulations.
  • Able to research information from a variety of sources to arrive at a decision or to make an informed recommendation, and the confidence to challenge views held by others in a professional manner.
  • Ability to organise high workloads effectively, especially in an environment when interruptions are frequent, priorities may conflict and deadlines must be met.
  • Experience using complex databases to manage data and communication - Peoplesoft and Microsoft Dynamics CRM preferred.
  • Detail oriented and a competent computer user.
