Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
Our ākonga (students) are at the forefront of all that we do at UC with a shared vision of revitalising and enhancing the student experience to offer every student a 'world class environment' that promotes individual growth and development.
Reporting to the Student Care Manager you will be responsible for ensuring a holistic service model of care that supports the needs of ākonga and provides individualised care and guidance to domestic and international students. The role requires expertise in the areas of pastoral care and wellbeing support and education. You will be dynamic and service orientated with exceptional collaboration and communications skills and experience in working in bicultural and diverse environments.
Mōu | Who You Are
As the successful candidate you will have:
- an understanding of and the ability to apply bicultural (and/or cultural) competence
- a tertiary qualification in Social Sciences, Health and or Education
- the ability to establish effective, collaborative working relationships
- extensive experience working with tertiary students and providing pastoral care services
- proven experience gathering and applying evidence/research based practices

Mahi Ngātahi | Who You Will Work With
The Student Care team provides pastoral care services, study related wellbeing advice, outreach and crisis intervention support for ākonga by facilitating and optimising their personal, social and academic experience at UC. The Student Advisor role is integral in developing and supporting these services.
