Who we are

We are the Division of Shared Services, a team of highly skilled professional staff responsible for delivering an outstanding student and staff experience through high quality, effective service delivery to all of the University’s internal and external customers.

Our team is focused on providing flexible Purchasing and Stores services across seven hubs of activity.

The role

The role of Storeperson within the Operational Finance team is responsible for a wide range of stores activities, including managing inwards goods and stores operations, appropriate storage and distribution of goods.

The range of tasks includes:
•    Acting as a trusted point of contact for staff and students receiving goods or accessing the store.
•    Performing stocktakes and audits while understanding your user’s requirements.
•    Receiving, inspecting, checking and processing inwards goods.
•    Unloading, delivering and coordinating the safe and timely distribution of goods to the customer or end-use location.
•    Storing goods appropriately while remaining aware of particular storage requirements (e.g. fragile, perishable goods).

The specific tasks in your role will vary depending on the portfolio of work you are focussing on. A more thorough list of portfolio related activities can be found in the position description.

Due to the nature of the Shared Services Division, the range of tasks and responsibilities is broad and may require performing duties at different workplaces or locations across campus.

Your skills and experience

•    Previous experience working in busy, stores or logistics environments.
•    A passion for customer service and delivering exceptional service to staff and students.
•    Strong Microsoft Office and PC skills.
•    Very good communication skills – written and spoken.
•    A science background, while not essential, would be an advantage.
•    The role involves working across several different systems and databases, as a result, a high attention to detail is required.

This is a part time (0.8 FTE), permanent position.
