At Massey University we embrace diversity, talent and performance. We provide our employees with an extensive range of opportunities to develop intellectually, professionally and personally. Massey staff have the opportunity to make a difference in the world, and we recognise the importance of being a Te Tiriti led organisation.

About the opportunity

As a key position, critical to the success of the Staff Recruitment team within People and Culture (P&C), this is the ideal opportunity to showcase your people and organisational competencies. You will utilise your recruitment experience, innovative thinking and proactive relationship building skills in an exciting, fast paced environment.  Reporting directly to the Staff Recruitment Manager you will be partnering with senior leaders, hiring managers and human resource advisors, across the University, to help recruit and select the very best talent domestically and internationally, strategically meeting their varied needs.

Our next team member will have

Superior organisational skills, attention to detail and understanding of key developments in all recruitment markets.  Ideally, you will be tertiary qualified in a Human Resources or another relevant field, with practical experience in recruitment, marketing, advertising and/or media. You will have an ability to identify and nurture talent through the use of search tools and statistical analysis and your proven administrative competencies will be augmented by your practical abilities utilising the suite of Microsoft Office products. You will have the ability to work independently and to self-manage your time, based on customer priorities, while proactively balancing your team commitments. Previous experience within the tertiary sector would be an advantage.

What’s on offer?

This is a full time position, with the flexibility to be located in either Auckland, Wellington or Palmerston North.  In addition to salary, Massey also offers up to 6.75% employer contribution to the UniSaver Superannuation Scheme, five additional days university holidays per year; free eye test & staff study for eligible employees, discounted membership to our fully equipped recreation centre and gym facilities and a comprehensive professional development and training programme, plus the ability to join group health, life and income insurance schemes.

Massey University is an equal opportunities employer and we value diversity in the workplace. While applications will only be accepted from candidates who are legally entitled to work in New Zealand, we encourage applications from anyone with the right skills and experience, particularly candidates of Māori or Pacific ethnicity and/or candidates who identify with the Rainbow community.

If you have what it takes and are ready to be an influential contributor in the implementation of the recruitment strategy of Massey, we want to hear from you. For further information or a confidential discussion, please contact Staff Recruitment Manager, Nigel Barker (06) 9517683 or email: [email protected]

Massey University is committed to protecting the health, safety and well-being of our staff and students.  All students, staff and visitors need to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or medically exempt, in order to come onto our campuses or to take part in face-to-face University-managed activities from the 14th February 2022. Therefore, any positions that fit these criteria will require the successful applicant to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or have a New Zealand Ministry of Health issued medical exemption. Should you apply and be successful for any of our roles, evidence of your vaccination status will be requested if face-to-face University-managed activities or coming onto a Massey campus is a part of your employment.
