This is an incredibly varied recreation job. In February you’ll be organising an around the Bays team while encouraging staff to participate in the Aotearoa Bike Challenge. In March you will be coordinating the semester social sports leagues (netball, soccer, volleyball). Towards the end of the semester, you’ll be working with other departments to help develop and deliver wellbeing initiatives for staff and students. And throughout the year you will be; supporting the student club program; making recommendations on which students should represent Massey University on the national stage; working a shift or two front of house at Massey University Gym each week, and; other sport/recreation events as they come up.

Our team is looking for someone with:

·        A bunch of organisational/project management/event delivery skills.

·        Someone who has the ability to learn quickly is very self-motivated, solution-focused, and has the ability to prioritise their own workload.

·        Someone who can think fast on their feet and is always looking for ways to improve the way we do things.

·        A high level of computer literacy and strong verbal and written communication skills is required, and a graduate degree in any field is preferred.

This job is ideal for someone who likes a good lie-in. During the semester, three of the shifts will operate between 1:00 pm-9:30 pm as the successful candidate oversees the delivery of our social sports league program.

The hours for this position are roster based and will vary from time to time in response to other staff taking annual leave or covering shifts at short notice. The majority of the shifts are either daytime or early evening hours during weekdays.

As a team member of Massey University Gym, you will have access to a regular gym and university professional development opportunities as well as the ability for subsidised ongoing university study.
