Position Overview

We are seeking a Sous Chef to join our busy kitchen team and assist the Head Chef in delivering excellent food to a range of students, staff, and external groups. Manawatu Hospitality manages all hospitality services on the Massey Manawatu Campus including cafes, events & catering.

Located in beautiful historical and landscaped grounds, Wharerata operates Monday - Sunday on a rostered basis. We deliver a range of high-quality cafe food as well as corporate catering, events, and weddings, both on and off campus. 

This position is a hands-on role & requires someone who has a strong background in a range of commercial kitchens. You will be assisting the Head Chef with menu preparation; costing & pricing; purchasing & stock control; maintenance of hygiene, health & safety standards; and managing staff as required.

To be successful in this role you will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a commercial kitchen & have previously held a senior position.
